About us

Welcome to BRANDYWINE DAYLILY GARDEN which comprises the official AHS Display gardens of  Dorothy, Hebron and Stephen Smith of and in Guthrie, KY. We hybridize tetraploid full form daylilies, diploids with more than just a pretty face, as well as spiders and UF’s.

We try to pick out of our hybridizing program daylily flowers that have good, clear color. All the daylilies are grown in field conditions without the aid of any artificial benefits to enhance daylily growth. The freeze thaw cycles we receive during most of our winters weed out the weak and unsuitable daylilies for our climate. Daylilies that will flourish under ordinary garden conditions are a major goal for us.

----We are an hour from Nashville,TN, 8 minutes from Clarksville, TN, and twenty five minutes from Hopkinsville, KY. We are directly on US Highway 79 north (Russellville Road), one mile from Tiny Town, KY (Highway 41/Highway 79) so we are easily accessible.  We welcome visitors. Do call ahead so we are there.----
